Show COLD 01 CRACKS STEEL CASING ON PIERS AT JENSEN BRIDGE bast last workmen cuttin ice at tho the jenson jensen bridge on green river noticed that the steel casing of two north piers of the east two twin piers of the bridge had crevices in them the county officials were notified and monday commissioner lynne ashton county clerk charles A hatch district road supervisor john L mcconkle and alt johndon went to jensen to inspect the bridge they found that a number of bolts of the casings had been broken loose by water freezing between the casing and the cement filling at the waters edge on one of at the piers this occurred several years ago the repair being one of the broken places mr mcconkle phoned to the state road engineer informing him of atthe abe condition and be promised to make an inspection when in this section engineer means told mr mcconkle that even if it the steel casing was removed he believed the cement piers would withstand any ally pressure brocht to bear on the piers by the 9 floods |
