registering the remainder of the afternoon s was 8 spent pent 4 getting acquainted with the campus and enjoying the recreational facilities there monday evening the delegates delegat ea were welcomed in an inspiring talk by president daryl chase and amy rears kears ly told them the purpose ol of the conference immediately afterwards committee meetings were held to plan the weeks activities connie cook and neldon oaks oaka each served on one of the committees at the get acquainted party the aint uintah ah delegates made friends with some of the approximately pronima proxima tely delegates there for or almost every r county in the state THE MAIN morning pig sessions were spent discussing three main topics which were understanding yourself getting along with family and friends and developing your leadership potential 1 these discussions were directed my edward V pope human relations specialist from the federal extension service the morning sessions ses helped each delegate to better understand himself and others agrest amount of information wax was given in n special interest groups such as you and your money food for fun and fitness from dates to mates and should I 1 go to college CONNIE rox FOX represented uintah county in the public speaking contest with a very good talk entitled 1 I speak tor for 4 al H john curfew represented the county very well in m the tractor driving contest visiting college departments two of the days proved to be very interesting and informative for all of the 4 11 delegates in the sessions the delegates were told about the extensions 1 in youth opportunities atles in 4 H work and OPI opportunities weve had through 4 11 in these sessions the delegates learned that the 4 11 program offers its members many varied opportunities to improve oneself the elections for mayor and ma mayolette may lorette orette proved to be a lot to fo fun for everyone connie fox and neldon oaks were nominated from our county and connie got into the finals which made the uintah delegates very proud and happy since only four girls were picked after the primary elections THE NIGHT MIGHT activities included a picnic at willow park a smorgasbord and talent show and the final session and farewell party at the final session cession all of the delegates joined in the discussion what we have accomplished this W week beeks 1 and when I 1 return home the delegates decided that they had learned many things that had made them want to go on and improve their 4 11 projects they also decided that the experiences that they had had and the things that they had learned must be taken back to their own communities muni ties and put to use there dancing at the farewell party wax was enjoyed by everyone even though there were two girls to every boy bay THERE WERE M many any mixed feelings thursday night as many of the counties left for their homes in different parts of the state there were sad goodbyes good byes byea to new friends but each one seemed to feel that he had on an important assignment ahead of him that assignment sign ment was to take the things that he had learned home to his big county and try to help and urge all of we the
