cowboy contests scheduled for next weekend cowboys will again flock to vernal next weekend for a big roping and barrel racing contest attraction the popular diamond lilla days sponsor ed cd by woodey D searle the two day contests will be held at the uintah county fairgrounds saturday and sunday with cowboys cowboy and cowgirls competing in four events calf roping steer roping mens barrel racing and ladies barrel racing ur mr searle reports that last year there were participants from colorado wyoming and all parts of utah A 00 purge puree will be added in the steer roping event and each team will get three steers a day in the calf roping event a 00 purse will be added with each roper getting two calves a day A 50 00 purse will be added in the mens barrel racing there will be two runs run each day in the ladles barrel race a 25 00 purse will be added all contestants will ill be served breakfast at woodey searles searle s homo home sunday morning
