Show I 1 V 0 jo 11 4 W k on 04 o 4 DINNER th now vernal chapter of utah state university chooses officers at A dinner meeting monday evening eve nini at the head table are mr and mrs lloyd C clement mr and mrs wm IF barnsworth dr leroy blazer executive secretary of the stacee and howard calder state alumni officials ai aid d new vernal chapter or organization 0 officials ot of the utah state university alumni association were present monday to assist in the organization of a vernal chapter over 40 alums were present to renew old acquaintances make new ones and to hear of the progress being made by the alma mater professor howard caldor was given a warm welcome home as an official alumni representative mr calder reported on the many contacts lie he has with students from uintah county and the excellent caliber of work they do upwards of 40 students are attending utah state university from uintah county this year groundwork preceding the vernal chapter organization was laid by a committee of 10 alums headed by lloyd A clement general chairman and v assisted by leland rex and clair lj hopkins as co chairmen A nominating committie was set up with WM wen farnsworth as chairman and also as master of ceremonies for the dinner meeting held at the 7 11 cafe the program committee was chair by wilma webb special numbers arranged by this committee included a solo in spanish siboney boney Sl by lloyd A clement reading by loreen miller and a piano polo by ruth walker officers elected to lead the vernal chapter of the utah state university alumni asso elation were president royal henderson enderson ir owner and operator of the dinosaur motel vice president glen OI droyd super visor of elementary education secretary mrs carole squire home economics instructor at junior high school mr clair hopkins OpI chis member of the state legislature and lyle taylor office manager of the agriculture stabilization and conservation service were elected as directors dr E leroy blaser execl live secretary of the association told the group about expansions of physical facilities underway on college hill in logan dormitories mi tories for over 1000 students are under construction or on the drawing boards a new forestry building and physical set acl ence and engineering center are being planned mr blaser said utah state university had a greater percent oner Lase in en colment than any 4 year tion in the state with 7 mr maser pointed out that the entire state of utah is part of the college colle e campus including ana county and home agents in every county plus snow cot col leac in ephraim and the college of southern utah at cedar city mr blaser concluded by sum mar izing opportunities for study and training on the logan campus ile he stated that never has students interests been held so paramount as it is today |
