Show western wyoming groups cooperate for ail aff out effort for dam funds western wyoming groups are uniting lor for an all out effort to obtain funds for F laming flaming gorge and other projects affecting the area the call to action was made by norman darlowe barlowe of cora coca president of the green river development cu co and a wyoming deputy interstate stream commissioner mr darlowe said that a meeting of the development company organized as a green aly river basin wide body will be held early in january lie ile urged that in the meantime civic organizations throughout the area present facts concerning the need for the projects to Wyo congressmen and to the bureau of the budget mr barlowe had attended the recent meetings of the upper colorado river commission and upper basin governors in cheyenne at the meetings tile the governors joined with the commission in urging construction funds funda for the river projects in the in teresta of defense the emphasis on funds for defense was the reason for indi from washington that river project funds may be cut during fiscal year 1059 1959 which starts this summer mr barlowe said action on the part of western wyoming organizations is needed immediately earlier dr it J stapleton chairman of the green river development wired various officials in washington calling attention to the employ ment situation in sweetwater county as well as to the national need for flaming gorge meanwhile various organizations in green river at the inai tation of mayor T E rogers have started contacting wyo congressional delegation in regards to the importance of local projects |
