Show N stake quarterly conference one of the hest best ever the stake quarterly conkein conferee Con feren which was held here in the taber acle saturday and sunday m was as one c the finest and most moat spirited ev held in the stake elders steph ii L richards of the council of tic tl twelve elder chas chaa 11 II hart of t U 0 council of SeX seventy enty mrs susa suba K g gates gatea of the general relief society board and mrs zina young card of the general primary board in attendance from salt lake city and spoke during the sessions of f conference i the musical features of the con ference were very excellent on sat arday the singing was furnished by members of the various wards in addition to which winfiss iss 1 athlyne hath ryne CRI cal dor der wing sing A dream of paradise at the mornings session and the girls chorus from maeser under the diree tion of mrs collett sang sane 1 1 coine where the lillies bloom i 1 on sunday a chorus furnished the iii nging in addition to which G geo 0 L woodbury sang a tenor solo hear me pray in the morn mornant int und and mrs keeney sang just for to lay day in the afternoon prof william hanson and his talented family furnished appropriate and delightful 1 orchestral music at every service stake chorister ashley bartlett directed the singing throughout the conference and prof wm F hanson presided at the organ several returned missionaries delighted the audience with narrations of their experiences while president david bennion on sunday intimated to the conference that it was quite possible he would have to resign his hid position as one of the stake presidency because of his change of occupation necessitating his possible removal from the stake A number of changes were made in different stake organizations A complete genealogical board was or 1 gani zed as fallowes tol fol lowes james 11 II j wallis president C B bartlett and I 1 john L mcconkle counselors jos 11 II gardiner andrew dudley jacob I 1 N lubberts john em 1 ma batty may carpenter in members embers of the board james 11 wallis stake representative of the genealogical al society of utah in the high council the following honorable releases were sustained nelson merkley james hacking geo D merkley aeo A B F Alc mcconkle Conkle and the following vot ed to fill the vacancies pontha calder archie S richardson C B D bartlett tred bingham and chas A hardy elder george A davis who lian has been the efficient stake clerk for many years was honorably released with a vote of thanks tor for his faithful services and nelson J hansen was sustained to succeed him on monday the first stake genealogical convention was held and with large audiences at each session mrs susa young gates addre addressed ased both meetings on genealogical subjects in addition to which mrs zina young card mrs enos enoa bennon jos 11 II cardiner prest ron don B colton and james 11 II wallis spoke genealogical representatives were present from all over the stake elder olson conducted the singing in addition to which lie he and his wife rendered a beautiful violin duett and kenna cragun an enjoyable piano solo Auxillia ry meetings were held luring during the conference with the visitors from salt lake in attendance while on sunday night the M I 1 A workers held a large meeting in the tabernacle apostle richards and elder chas 11 II hart left for salt lake early monday morning but sisters susa young gates gatea and zina young card are still here and have been holding meetings almost every day mrs gates delivered a tine fine talk to the combined relief societies of the vernal wards in the second ward chapel tuesday afternoon and mrs card delivered a lecture in the same building wednesday night on wednesday morning mrs gates accompanied by bishop batty and felfe visited the diona quarries it jensen and were delightfully entertained by dr douglass in charge |
