Show 1 11 H N N E T T april 14 private george C evans arrived home saturday april ath from the service of uncle sam where he be has served since june 26 1919 in two months from the time he be left his home ho he was in the front line trenches in france he first took hla his position in the st billiel front and from there was transferred to the verdun front where he be went over the top five times in succession ile he had some very narrow escapes being shot in the tight shoulder quite severely and was also shot in the right hand with a machine gun explosive bullet and several pieces of the bullet still remain in his hand ile he also received a flesh wound in hla his right leg and received several minor wounds while going over the top the fifth time ile he has had a great experience peri ence we are having some come very cold weather while we work our ditch assessments there was quite a number of bennet people in roosevelt today doing business busInG FIb everyone here to la getting along fine there to is no sickness here at prea present anti the bennett farm bureau has purchased a threshing machine tor for next falls work everyone around here la is farming this year |
