Show THE EXPRESS ALWAYS WELCOME somewhere in france oct 15 editor vernal ex press for a long time I 1 have been trying to persuade myself to write you of my appreciation for receiving 4 the vernal express but I 1 am sorry to say I 1 have ne elected it until now although I 1 have never informed you abbat any changes of my address through your kindness the paper has followed me regu regularly laxly and up 4 until the last month and even today I 1 have received it on schedule time there is nothing like reading your home paper especially while on the front where I 1 am now although i the news is quite old when it arrives it is always new to 4 us and many times while reading the letters written lo 10 4 you from other uintah boys I 1 have wondered if there is 4 another or any paper in the world as true blue 1 to 4 the men from their community as is the express and I 1 wish to state that your effort has not been en fruitless as much as it may seem so the good you are doing is felt all the way into the front line trenches it has helped me along several times when th ggs had begun to look gloomy the steadfast praise you have always held for us has cheered us up and helped our morale as well as our loyalty to country and cause that we are fighting for I 1 thank you for remembering me in the list of uin ta tan h boys because I 1 enlisted as one of them may 7 1917 before closing I 1 want to thank you for your many kindnesses and wish you to give my regards to the people of vernal as a whole for their good work and 4 loyalty for the boys in the trenches from a vernal boy 4 THOMAS WILSON co 13 F A A E F france |
