platform of the uintah county republicans as adopted in convention ven tion october irth 1908 at vernal utah the republicans of uintah county in convention assembled reaffirm re affirm our allegiance to republican principles as promulgated by br the national platform adopted in june 1908 we unqualifiedly endorse the administration of president theodore roosevelt we commend him for the gallant tand stand he his has taken toward the enforcement of the law as enact ed by sta statute tate and wo we extol him tor for hla a fearless initiative in awakening the moral conscience of the ration we ve are proud of tho the record of the present state administration as administered under the guidance of lion ilon john C cutter cutler and we heartily commend the efforts put forth by our I 1 national representatives cepres in Wa washing shins ton which has baa enabled them to do A splendid work for our state and has placed them high in the councils of our party and in close harmony with the administration we approve of the work of our pro sent county officers and believe they have given to us an honest economics and business like administration and under a republican administration the finances of the county have been placed upon a solid basis and today to day our county Is stronger financially than at any time tn in its history we are in favor of carrying out the work looking toward the betterment and improvement of our county and state roads which work has been commenced un der the present republican commissioners of uintah county and pledge our nominees that wh whatever what eyer funds may be appropriated or used for road purposes that the same will be expended economically wisely and for the best Inter interests of all parts of the county i and its development and we likewise commend the efforts and la bore bora of our representative to the seventh legislature and particularly for his work directed toward the securing of better and more efficacious roid road laws and insist that the nominee e of this party continue the work so eo ably begun by our last Represent representative athe we commend the energy and hardai hood of those irrespective of party affiliations who are engaged in the building of an empire on the former uintah indian reservation and prom ise to those within our boundaries that they will be safe safeguarded guarded and protected in the building up r end nd establishment of their homes and that no effort will be spared in so far as aa it lawfully and legally can be done I 1 in shielding them from frem unnecessary ary trouble and danger and aad removing the cause thereof we the republican party of uin tah bah county are in favor of ta local op t tion law and pledge our representative in the state legislature to wort worl for the adoption of it a law to that end wd desire an ener energetic gette bu sineo like administration of the affairs of uintah county and pledge our oar candidates that hat it if elected they will so BO conduct the business of the county again pledging our royalty and teal ty to the republican party and to its principles as enunciated in the national and state platforms and aad believing that our oar county with its ite numerous resources resource es and unbounded wealth will at no late date command the attention it so richly deserves deserve we pledge our support to ward GREATER IUM TY
