Show A narrow escape saturday night dr brownfield was called to randlett to examine the little f four our year old girl of rev M J hersey who had been unconscious since thursday it was waa feared that there was waa a clot of blood on the brain on thursday the children were playing in the yard with a pet yearling calf winch which had always been perfectly gentle mrs horsey hersey was attracted to the door by an unusual noise and to her horror saw the calf running and bellowing across the yard dragging her little girl it ran for about yards yarda and then came tearing back and stopped close to where she was waa she sha had a butcher knife in her hand at the time it Is ia said and cut the rope before it could again start rt it is the supposition that the children had been playing horse as the child had th alt rope tied about her body and that some of the tha other children had fastened thi rope to the tail which became frightened and dragged the child dr E P ford was called in but as the child remained unconscious it was feared there was a clot of blood on the brain and dr brownfield was cal called ledin in consultation it was determined however that such was not the case and that it was only a severe case of nervous shock sunday evening the child regained consciousness and on monday a telegram was waa received to the effect that the child was waa perfectly conscious and much better no bones were kroken but the little girl was badly bruised about tho the head and body rev hersey was in salt lake at the time ile he left home tuesday and had bad just arrived in salt lake when he received a telegram of the accident and immediately hastened home traveling day and night and arrived there sunday morning about the same time as dr brownfield did having rode on horseback from dragon saturday right |
