Show ADOPT BYLAWS BY LAWS commercial club in n working order the second meeting of citi citizens zons who are organizing a comme commercial cial club was even moie success successful ful than the one held last week weck the attendance was waa larger at tho the one held last night our merchants also had two more senta tives present viz mayor lycurgus johnson and ernest vaton eaton making three in all the temporary officers lion hon don B colton chairman and N J meagher secretary still occupied their positions the but business iness transacted mas w aa the reading of the ruport report on constitution and bylaws by laws the tha word of the committee had been done in a creditable manner and with a few slight alight amendments the constitution they had formulated was waa adopted by un unanimous aninious vote of the present As aa the constitution provides that the first annual election shall be held on the last saturday in march of each year the organization would be without officers until the date of the first election therefore the committee mado made a recommendation which was waa adopted that nine candidates be placed in nomination at onre once other nominations may also be made at the meet ing to be held thursday rebr february uary let lat at the stake house at 7 30 p in on that date itne ame gove governor knork arel are A to to ab elected to serve until the ato of atil first annual election of oth officers cerE 1 I the following gentlemen were then placed in nomination charles demoisey Ch chaill ails S carter hon harden bennion J G holmes hon don B colton N J Mea fiher L 11 II lycurgus johnson and it rs is collett out oat of these together with mith any who may inay be nominated at the next meeting the first board of nine goy errors arnora will be elected J G holmes was elected as a committee of one to secure signatures signa turea to the agreement obligating the signers to assist in the organization of the commercial club this to be done in order that a larger number of citizens may participate in the election of the board of governors next thursday night N J meagher Mea glier was waa appointed as a committee ot one to seccie without cost to the club a suitable place in which to hold the next meeting it seems that the organization is 13 in a fair way to become a permanent institution this section of country has for years yeara needed an active aggressive institution ution of the kind and it is to be hoped that the apathy which has tn in the past been bee ii displayed by many of those most vitally interested will be dispelled the date ot the next meeting is I 1 hurs day february 1st ast at 7 30 pm at the stake house |
