Show bylaws by y laws of west mountain quartz mining district i passed september 1863 at a meeting of the ho quartz guariz miners of west mountain quartz mining district held at jordan ward house salt lake la ke valley on the 1701 day of september 1863 the following bylaws by laws laus were passed article 1st this district shall include that coition of territory situated in tho the territory of utah and bounded is as follows commencing at the confluence of the liver jordan with greit great salt lake and running thence in a southerly direction along the cast bank of said I 1 river ivi boidan jai dan to its point of exit from lake utah thence along tho the west m margin r ain of said lake to the iho deg of hiorth 11 lat t thence joe along fiala faai d joth deg of north lat to the deg of west long greenwich ich thence along g said ath leg deg of 0 west long to tho the do dag of north lat thence along said list do dag of north lat to great silt lake thence along tho the margin of said lake in a southerly direction to the place of beginning article 2nd and the extent of a claim on any I 1 quartz lode loae or vein shall bo be two hundred leet feet to the claim f with nith all its di dips p s angles and vari irions article 3rd ard no person will be permitted tto to hold more than one claim by 16 location cation on any one vein by purchase hago any number of 0 shares can bo be held bold at article bicle lah all claims located must have a notice posted upon them stating the number of shares and the probable comiso claim t id d and also recorded in the books of the district recorder within ten days ater alter location article eth each company enst do one faithful days work on their claim each month after the list day of april 1864 on tho the failure to do so tho the claim will be appy pj aided vided hoice hoever ver that if the company are pro vented by local insurrection or rebellion from corking ku orling a to do so will not dot forfeit their claim article eth tho the discoverer of a vein of quartz containing gold sils sih or cr copper or other valuable metals or minerals will be entitled to two shares article fth there shall be a district re corder corder elected from among the miners of the district u whose hose duty it shall be to record all claims presented plesent pi ed for tho purpose giving tho the name ot of each locator or owner and receive as compensation a sum not exceeding one dollar per locator or owner his term of office shall b 0 one year or until his successor is chosen I 1 article ath these laws will apply to locations of claims on veins of coal irona iron or other metals or minerals in ahli Dis district archibald gardner was elected district reorder recorder of west mountain district for ono one year from the dato date above written GARD arz president gr W C chilto TON secretary mag |
