Show agricultural production conference scheduled Wed Joe Austin Utah State University Area Livestock Specialist announces that on January 26 the fourth program of this years year's Agriculture Production conference will be beheld beheld beheld held in the Moon Lake Electric Auditorium at Roosevelt starting at pm p.m. Due to the fact that Dr Ray Finch is bringing with him Ray Staley of Coalville and the fact that he can only spend one day away from his ranch at this time only one meeting will be held in the Uintah Basin The purpose of U thus this s program Is to consider different marketing alternatives to the cattle and sheep producers Inthe in inthe inthe the Basin As most of the ranchers know a questionnaire has been sent to each rancher Inan Inan in inan an attempt to determine the number of livestock produced in inthe inthe inthe the basin relative to the amount of feed reed prod produced ced here It is important that these questionnaires be returned as soon as as' as possible that a more accurate relationship between livestock and feed production can be determined DR FINCH will be talking about possible marketing programs in both sheep and cattle Several areas that willbe will willbe willbe be pursued will be calf pools uniformity of cattle and several other ap ap- ap- ap Mr Ray Staley is a range sheep operator in the Coalville area and has been very active in a lamb pool which he helped organize a few years ago They have realized from 5 to 12 cents per pound more from their lambs than those not working through a pooling arrangement This could amount to between and for the Basin farm flock producers and considerably more than that if the range sheep operators also became involved If you are interested in learning more about possible marketing improvements you are encouraged to attend this meeting |
