Show Beaux Arts meets at Stewart home The scenic ranch home of oC the Wiley E. E Stewarts in Jensen was the setting for Cor the May 4 meeting of oC the Beaux Arts Club Mrs Stewart entertained the club members and one guest Mrs Stanley W W. Wheeler The program was a life history given by Mrs Harold E E. E Davis She told of her early childhood with her parents Robert H H. H and Roetta Bastian and her five live sisters and one brother She was born in Provo while her father Cather was attending BYU Academy After Alter his graduation he was called on ona ona ona a mission to St. St Johns Arizona to teach at the Academy His family Camily went with him 1 In 1913 the family Camily moved to Vernal where he was principal of oC the l high gh school and also the coach Fredas Freda's early education was was' in the Vernal schools and when the family Camily moved back to Arizona she moved to Provo and living with an aunt took an earl early entrance into BYU The next year she went to Washington DC D.C. and lived with her sister and law in Mr and Mrs Clive Davis and attended Wilson Normal School a school for Cor prospective teachers Upon graduation she returned to Arizona and taught at Eagar then at a one room school at Pinyon and later at St St. Johns She then returned to BYU for Cor Curt further her education Upon receiving her degree she taught in the Granite school district In 1930 she renewed her acquaintance with Harold E. E Davis of Vernal and they were married in the spring of oC 1931 in the Salt Lake Temple They lived in Vernal where Mr Davis was in the sheep industry During the depression years she returned to her career in teaching teaching clothing ng at the high school In 1940 19 she worked for Farm Security and in 1947 for the Utah State Extension Service In 1953 returning once more to the class room she rendered outstanding service to the young women in the high schools school's textile department until her retirement in 1969 Their four children were born in Vernal and because of oC their fathers father's business enjoyed many summers in the mountain home in the summer helping their parents The final meeting of the year will be at the home of Mrs MN Ralph on May 18 |
