Show Basic skills tested at I Meadows Five weeks of school left and for the children at Country Meadows they will be the busiest of all the year and perhaps the most fun During this time the year olds willbe will willbe willbe be tested on the five basic cognitive skills shapes colors numbers alphabet and vocabulary as a preliminary preparation for kindergarten Results will be given to all the parents so that they will know just where their child is at this trus point in time lime LAST WEEK the children visited the Uintah County Hospital and were privileged to have two of the paramedics in our County come to the center with the ambulance all in supplementation of their medical unit It is a unit designed to give the children the information they need not to tobe tobe tobe be afraid when an accident happens but to realize that medical people are there to help them and although the sophisticated equipment in both the hospital and the ambulance may appear o it Irea really lIy will help not hurt It is an important unit for the children and does a great deal to control the panic they feel when they are hurt This week the dairy unit is on the agenda Field trips to Powell Dairy and a walk through the feed lot of Dee Jenkins to learn about cows and dairy products always excite the children From the dairy products received they will then see what can be made butter and ice cream being the favorites of all the children It is interesting that the making of butter is more impressive to the children than anything else It Itis Itis Itis is the making of something solid out of something that was liquid Ice cream may taste better but the transformation is not as stimulating |
