I its readers concerning any subject pertinent to the Uintah Basin While there are no restrictions as ns to contents or reasonable length letters must be submitted exclusively to the Express and Iwar the writers writer's full name signature and address Names Nam's must be he printed on political letters but may ho he withhold withheld for good reasons it if requested on others All I letters are arc subject to condensation Private property Dear Editor Lets Let's suppose for a moment that you own property in the Ashley Valley You are very proud of your land and favor the beautiful rock garden and land land- You are particularly pleased with the growth of your juicy tomatoes and silky corn Naturally you want to protect your choice piece of property so much so that you posted signs around your property indicating that it is private- private thai that meaning it belongs to you and no noone noone noone one else else- else certainly certainly that is something to tobe tobe tobe be proud of after all that is one of the privileges of living in fn a country such as we have One day you discovered that your neighbor behind you began selling vegetables Several people wanted these but did not want to walk all the way around your property to get to them so to your surprise and dismay they began tearing down your signs and across your rock garden to get a little closer to the big vegetable sale After all it was hot and they didn't want to have to carry their baskets that far Before Defore long your beautiful property is turned into a baron dust bowl with tire tracks being the only sign of land land- who do you turn to to- the Law of course You seek help in el enforcing the law against the invaders of your property This story may seem ridiculous to some of you but believe it or not it is happening ng much in that respect today Several people own choice land on the mountain and they are just as proud of that land as you are of yours They are reaping out a living on that land and they expect the same respect as any other landowner in the valley Calders Calder's Lake and surrounding property on Diamond Mountain is just one example of many such pieces of choice lard land held in private ownership Because of several several reasons some so so- called sportsmen are tearing the signs down and driving around them and leaving their garbage scattered everywhere The Division of Wildlife Resources and the Vernal Rod and Gun Club have pleaded with the sportsmen to obey the signs and respect the private property properly around Calders Calder's Lake and Crouse Grouse Reservoir If the disrespectful use of the property continues the landowner will be forced to close clOie the property t thus closing two of the choicest fisheries we have in the area Kay Campbell President Vernal Rod and Gun Club |
