| Show i t I Ii Bridge Club I i. i report j By Juanita Oden I always get the greatest pleasure when hen writing points for new bridge players slayers Wednesday morning Lois Townsend and Gaylene Gaylen Evans had high scores scores I am so proud of them Lu and Ruby Batchelor were in Second place and Petty and Esther Pinkham were third On Thursday evening Esther Sturgeon and Helen Lyles scored high again new ones Rex and Kay Cook of Neola came in second and and Esther were in third place Vernal was well represented at the Grand Junction Tournament Barbara Gibson Alice Wiggins Nina Pease Lorraine Higgins and end Juanita Oden went to the tournament Juanita played with Donna Oliver formerly of Ver pal They placed second South North-South in the afternoon Open Pairs session and fourth in the evening session They placed sixth overall against 48 pairs Sunday Nina Lorraine and Donna and Juanita won 4 of 6 team matches Donna Doona and Juanita had a write-up write in inthe inthe inthe the Sunday Denver Post Past They were the only pair to bid and make a slam in pearls hearts doubled The two hands combined had only 19 high card points |
