Show raa r I Id d 1 r t y r rEVAN EVAN HALL showing the fine photography that has brought him awards and recognition throughout the state Evan Halls Hall's photography recognized by Little Gallery The Little Gallery of Arts will recognize the fine photography work of Evan Halls Hall's Studio in a ashow ashow ashow show October 28 to November 11 The display of about 40 pictures will be predominantly black and white with special emphasis on light and shadow Located at 36 W W. N N. N downstairs in the Jolley Professional Building Evans Evan's main interest in photography is to perfect the art of capturing capturing cap cap- turing Luring the feelings personality or mood of the subject so the scene doesn't look posed Tome Tome To Tome me only then do they become areal areal a areal real person One of the few color phot photos Evan will show is a picture of his father and a grandson Trevor reading together and portrays the feelings Evan is trying to catch I believe remarked Evan that a good picture even though perfect in detail must have subject interest or people wont won't like it Im I'm working on a series of photographs now using this technique depicting life and scenes from the Uintah Basin EVAN whose pictures have hung in state contests at the the- Edison State Gallery in Salt SaUl Lake City and who received th the first place award in Professional Photography in Utah in 1975 tries to capture the zone system Photography involved is first previs- previs of the picture as a finished product complete complete complete com com- knowledge of film characteristics processing chemistry and enlarging or printing capabilities so when a picture is not as you would like it then all aU these facets can be brought into focus to make it the way you want it it to sum it up it means that the photographer can make the areas that should be white white or the dark ones dark with tremendous clarity of detail One of the pictures Evan will hang at the Little Gallery shows this concept A farm and pastoral scene the tree shadows on the house are detailed from the sunlight on the rocks in the foreground to the snow on the mountains in inthe inthe inthe the background everything is in focus Evan is a native of Vernal Son of and David Hall lIaU he returned November of last year to open an art studio He graduated from BYU with a aBA aBA aBA BA in Art and was in the photography business in Orem for five years He and hi his wife the former Velda Allred AUred of Orem met when Velda and a girl friend were coming to Vernal and picked up a hitchhiker Evan They were married Sept 10 1971 and live at North with their three sons Trevor Kelly and Bryce and eight registered Persian cats no less An open house will be held for Evan Friday evening October 28 from 7 to 9 p pm p.m. m. m at the Little Gallery of Arts Uintah County Library |
