Show BDJLA FLASHES by Jim Abplanalp Bingham at Magna Tuesday The BDAA baseball nine travels tra-vels to Magna next Tuesday night to engage the first half champs, and to try and rtay in the running for part of second half honors. , Wednesday night the locals lost a 10 to 6 decision at Brig-ham Brig-ham City for their fourth straight defeat. Last night, Bingham played host to the Provo Flyers at Copperton. Seeking their initial in-itial win in the rugged Industrial loop, the locals have added a couple of new players, and Man- ager Peyton has juggled his line-up in an effort to improve his offensive strength. Bingham plays at Provo Friday, August 1, and will meet the Helper Merchants Mer-chants at Copperton Tuesday, August 5. Legion Wins At McGill Bingham's American Legion nine took both ends of a two-day two-day exhibition jaunt at McGill, Nev., last. week. Lefty Marion Cowdell hurled a neat four hitter hit-ter to cop the first game 7 to 1, as Apostal and LaComb took turns on the mound to win the second clash 15 to 6. Sonny Robertson blasted a home run each" game, over the left field wall, and Gary La-Comb La-Comb also clouted one for the circuit in the same area. The Bingham nine, managed by Mandel Wilson, will begin play soon for state and division honors. O . |
