Show AGREEMENT REACHED IN THE SPOKANE RATE CASE railroads will file class rates in accordance with decision of commission but commodity rates will remain as at present washington an agreement was reached on wednesday juno june 9 0 between the interstate commerce commission and tho parties interested in the spokane rate case including the shipping interests and the railroads that the phases ot of the question yet in controversy should be postponed uell next tall fall when the whole matter will be threshed out on its merits I 1 it was was agreed that tho the defendant railroads should file with the commission class clasa rates in accordance with the decision of the commission an a few weeks ago but that thai the commodity rates should remain at as they arenow are now until the entire auest quest loi lor could be gone over by the commis slon sion the order of the commission in the spokane case one ot of the iho roost most important and far reaching that has been tried by tho the body in years originally as to have become effective on june t i that order made material reductions in the rates from eastern points to spokane but it proved to be unsatisfactory is factory to practically everybody in te rested next fall it Is proposed if possible to reach a conclusion as to the influence of pacific coast terminal rates on all intermediate rates including those not only to spokane but to rono reno phoenix ariz salt lake city sacramento and other points in the intermountain states |
