treasurer at the end of each quarter beginning L with march 1896 fr for the amount of salary alary and mileage then due from th the state to each of the state officers and justices of the supreme court and judges of the district courts and said warrants shall be paid by the treasurer out of any funds in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated ted OF COUNTY OFFICERS sec 3 for the purpose of regulating the compensation and salaries of all county officers not otherwise provided for the counties of this state are classified according to assessed valuation of the several counties first class all counties having an assessed va valuation of twenty millions of dollars or over second class all counties countie 4 having ing an assessed valuation of more than fifteen millions of dollars and less than twenty millions of dollars third class all counties hav having an assessed valuation of more than ten millions of dollars dollari 5 and less than fifteen millions of dollars fourth class all counties having an assessed ass eseed valuation of more than eight and less than ten million dollars fifth class all counties having baving an assessed valuation of more than seven and less than eight million dollars sixth class all counties having an assessed valuation of more than six and less than seven million dollars seventh class all counties having ing an assessed valuation of more than five and less than six million dollars i eighth class all counties having an assessed valuation of more than four and less than five million dollars ninth class all counties hav ing an assessed valuation of more inore than three and less lees than four million dollars tenth class all counties having irl an assessed valuation of more than two and less than three million dollars eleventh class abolished the following temporary schedule will be in force collector in counties of the let class 2500 ath class 1000 treasurer let class ath 0 75 after fixing eixina salaries for the present year the hoard board of county commissioners shall fix salaries blen 3 months in advance of election thereafter the bill then reads see sec 0 the members of the board of county county commis shall not receive any compensation pensa tion in addition to that provided in lection 4 of this act for any special or committee work but each member shall be paid each quarter the amount of his actual traveling expenses in attending the regular and special sessions of the board and in the discharge of necessary committee work not to exceed three hundred dollars each provided that an itemized statement shall be made showing in de tail the expenses incurred subscribed and sworn to by the member claiming such expenses see sec 8 notaries Not aries public boards boarde of arbitration justices of the peace and constables may collect and receive for their own use respectively for official services the fees and emoluments prescribed by law provided that the city justices may be paid salaries when so BO determined terin ter mined ined by the mayor and city council of such cities see sec 9 0 the salaries of county officers must be paid quarterly out of the contingent fund of the county upon the order of the board of county counte commissioners but one half balf the salary of assessor county attorney and treasurer shall be borno borne by the state and paid as provided by law provided the salary of county superintendent of schools shall be paid out of the county school fund SEC 10 the salaries herein provided for county officers shall be full compensation for all services of every kind and description rendered by the officers lemed herein provided that if in the judg jud of the board of county commissioners ners the duties of any office cannot be disc discharged hamed by the I principal rid therein then tho the said board of county commissioners may allow such euch officer a deputy or euch number of deputies or assistants assi stanta as in their judgment may be required to dothe do the business of such office in connection with tho the principal for such time as may be necessary and at euch salary as they may designate the salary of any one of whom shall not exceed two thirds of the amount fixed for the salary of the principal the salaries of said deputies shall be a county charge see sec 12 the salaries of county officers herein provided shall take effect efrece and begin as of the fourth day of january 1896 provided that no salary shall be paid to any officer unless and until such officer shall account for any pay into the county treasury all fees collected county by him for services in his office for the preceding quarter ter beginning with january 4 provided further furt ber thi section shall not be construed to prevent the board of county commissioners from paying the salary of any ern em aloye or deputy of any officer |
