Show PRESS ENCOMIUMS. What our contemporaries say of us. The Ogden Herald of the 7th, has the following: The Journal is bright and newsy, and will be the more appreciated by the people of Logan and Cache County from the fact that they have, for some time past, been without a local paper to represent and defend local interests. The Journal is strongly supported financially, and has sufficient talents to make it acceptable to all its readers. We bid the venture welcome to the field of journalism, wishing it all the success its protectors can desire. We enter it with pleasure on our exchange list. The Salt Lake Herald says: The Utah Journal, published at Logan City, Cache Co., made its appearance on Tuesday last. The Journal, from its external appearance, and from the modest tone of the salutatory, will fill a want that has been long and almost painfully felt in Cache and surrounding valleys. The sheet is just a proper size, the type new and the press-work excellent, and the entire mechanical part of the paper is all that could be desired. The tone of the original articles gave the newspaper ?? ??, and show experienced and able hands are employed. The Journal is well fitted with local, editorial, and a goodly amount of selected reading matter. It is just what was wanted, and is bound to be a success to those whose means and enterprise have given it an existence and a great benefit to the live and wide-awake people of Cache Valley and vicinity. The Herald welcomes the Journal, and wishes it and every person connected therewith long and continued prosperity. |
