Show CHILDREN'S GIFT TO THE TEMPLE. Saturday we were shown a neat and beautiful quilt made by the children of the Hyrum Primary Association, nearly all under the age of twelve years. The design is neat and the sewing good and [unreadable word]. It is valued at five dollars and was made for and presented to the Temple. The Association has demonstrated the fact that the children's efforts, though apparently small, are capable of assisting much in a good work. The Association meets every Saturday afternoon and is efficiently presided over by sister Lucy Wilson, whose efforts in the advancement of the young are very commendable and productive of much good. A short time since, the members of this association, with small donations, bought and made a dress for a little girl who had been sick most of the winter and whose parents are in poor circumstances. On their day of meeting, instead of convening at the usual place they met at this little girl's home, presented her with the dress and other gifts and [unreadable word], and went through with their regular exercises. The little recipient of their [unreadable word] was greatly surprised and laughed and cried alternately. It did her more good than medicine. The Association use B. R. Snow's primary hym book in their meetings and prize it highly. |
