Show AN IMPOSTOR.

We have lately learned that a man who, we believe, calls himself H. H. Williamson, has been traveling through portions of the Territory, claiming to be a correspondent of the Logan Leader and Ogden Junction. If he has made any such pretentions [pretensions] as these, he is an impostor. We have no correspondent by that name, and are authoritatively informed that the Junction has not. This man Williamson traveled through several of the settlements of this valley, ostensibly as lecturer, and did, we believe, deliver some lectures in various school houses. He claimed to be a Latter-day Saint, and also to be a philanthropic worker in the cause of education. On the strength of such pretensions, he gained favor and hospitality, and also succeeded in obtaining recommendations from a number of bishops, and these he used to further his objects. He traveled some in Bear Lake valley, where he also did some lecturing, and he is now in the southern portions of the Territory, and has, we understand, claimed to be traveling and lecturing by authority from the Twelve. This is not true. He has no commission of the kind from any of the authorities of the Church.

While Williamson may have a perfect right to lecture and receive money therefor, he has no right to make the representations which we understand he has made, and so far as this paper is concerned we emphatically deny that he has any connection with it.
