SOME people are too careless with their cows, as they are left to roam the streets, frequently doing damage to gardens. ON Wednesday, Doctor Groesbeck, assisted by Messrs. [Messieurs] Cranney and Lamoreaux, performed an operation on the person of Mrs. Van Noy, wife of William T. Van Noy, who resides near Franklin. Such offences should not pass unnoticed. A MAN in Logan purchased a cow the other day, and after taking it home induced his mother-in-law to undertake the milking. The first attempt the lady got kicked twice by the animal. The owner of the cow was speaking of the occurrence to a friend, who is blessed with "one of the proverbial mothers-in-law," when the friend turned suddenly and said, "I'll give you $70, for your bargain, if you will warrant the animal to kick that way every time a woman milks her." |
