Show OBITUARY <br><br> We regret to chronicle the death of Sister Drusilla Hendrick, wife of Bishop Samuel Roskelley who is now on a mission to England; which event occurred at Smithfield, Utah, at 8 (?) a.m. May 10th, 1880. Drusilla was daughter of James and Drusilla Hendrick; born in Franklin, Simpson County, Kentucky, Nov. 2d., 1835. She crossed the plains with her parents in 1847, and was married to Samuel Roskelly July 22d, 1858. Removed to Smithfield Nov. 30th, 18??, when her husband was ordained bishop, at which place she has continued to reside, respected by all. A husband and seven children are left to mourn her loss. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and died with full hope of rising again with the faithful in the morning of the first resurrection. <br><br> Oh mother in Israel, Sleep thou in peace! Your God from your suffering Has granted release. He has taken you home To his mansions above To crown you with glory And bless you with love. <br><br> ‘Tis true we will miss Your society dear, But we could not, dear mother, Wish you back here. We have seen your great suffering, Your integrity we've known, Therefore, dearest mother, We'll try and not mourn. <br><br> Oh watch o'er us, mother, From your heavenly home. Let thy motherly love guard us Wherever we roam, Till we have accomplished The Great Father's will, And join you in heaven In purity still. C. M. |
