Show Last Respects. <br><br> A large congregation assembled in the meeting house in Smithfield on Wednesday to perform the funeral rites over the remains of Sister Roskelly. Bishop Daines of Hyde Park offered Prayer. Elder G.L. Farrell and Bishop Rigby spoke comforting words to the bereaved family and friends of the deceased. Prest. [President] W.B. Preston pronounced the benediction and a blessing upon the bereaved ones. A large concourse followed the remains to the burial ground. The grave contained a brick vault to receive the coffin with flat rock coverings cemented together. Elder G. Barber? pronounced the dedicatory prayer. All took a last look at the casket, and the grave closed over her remains. Elder P.F. Morehead, on behalf of the family, returned sincere thanks to all who had been untiring in their attentions over the death bed of the departed, administering to her every want; and dismissed with Blessings upon the heads of all present. <br><br> The above is gleaned from an account handed in which we had not space to publish in full. |
