Taylor, Esq., of the Junction office. <br><br> THE CACHE VALLEY HOUSE is now open for visitors. It is as good a hotel as can be found between Ogden and Helena. <br><br> WM. [WILLIAM] BUDER, the watchmaker and jeweler, is now prepared to do gold and silver plating on short notice. ap3-tf. <br><br> A LARGE consignment of bottled and raw oils, turpentine, lead and varnishes just arrived at the Pioneer Drug Store. <br><br> THE SUBJECT of building a Hall for dramatic and musical entertainment is talked of. Do not let it all end in talk. <br><br> THE BEAUTIFUL monument to C. F. Johnson was placed in the cemetery last week. Brown & Son have made a good job of it. <br><br> MRS. ALICE SMITH, who arrived here from England last week, thinks of returning to her native land again in about three weeks. <br><br> MR. H.M. PHELPS who had his leg broken, on the U. & N. some time ago, is neatly recovered. He can already get around on crutches. <br><br> MRS. LAMOREAUX has just received a choice stock of millinery and fancy goods of latest style and finest quality. Inspection solicited. apr3-3t. <br><br> THE SMALL boy Of Mr. Mortensen's, who we before mentioned as having a bone of his leg broken by a fall, is almost well enough to run and play again. <br><br> RICHMOND had a little diversion in the way of a elopement the other day. A young couple went to Franklin, were married, and with others left for parts unknown. <br><br> ON last Monday night the members of the Angell Orchestra formed with the Logan Dramatic Company, and will hereafter be in attendance at their performances. <br><br> ON Monday evening a young man by the name of Christian Johansen?, who resides in Logan, was thrown from his horse and had his callar [collar] bone broken. Dr. Ormsby set the fracture. <br><br> BRO. [BROTHER] EVAN STEPHEN, the competent musician and music composer of Willard city, will be in Logan the latter part of this month and will spend three months here in teaching music. <br><br> THE CARD of Dr. F.V. Witzgard appears in our advertising columns today. It is not necessary for a name to appear in print, unless the writer so desires, but is should always be affixed to articles intended for publication. <br><br> J.H. BROWN AND SON have fixed up a show room at their place of business, and in it have tastefully arranged specimens of their work in the shape of lettering, carving, turning, etc. They also have the use of a shop on Main street, where "Harry" plies the chisel and mallet, and some beautiful head stones are on exhibition. <br><br> DR. W.S. YARCROSS returned last Saturday evening from his visit to the east. He first went to the state of Maine and then returned by the way of New York, Washington, Chicago, St. Louis and other prominent cities, stopping a short time in each. The Doctor has spent a pleasant journey and now appears to be in good health and spirits. <br><br> NOTWITHSTANDING that Wall Paper has advanced 23 per cent in the east, I will sell at old prices until my present stock is exhausted - except the 23 cent paper, which I have advanced to 31 cents per roll. Hammond., Bookseller and Stationer, Logan City, apr30-1m. <br><br> WE are told that a certain vocalist in a musical organization of this city while rushing at "break neck" speed toward the depot one night last week in order to reach there before the train from Ogden arrived, slipped and fell full length upon the ground. This somewhat cooled his ardor, but resolving to see the object of his visit, he gathered himself up and with renewed exertion reached his destination on in time. |
