Show NEARLY A FIRE. On Sunday morning last, at about 4 o'clock, as Mr. Paul Cardon, proprietor of the Cache Valley House, was dressing preparatory to going to the depot, he happened to see, from the window of his room, a blaze in the rear of McAlister & Son's harness shop. He hastened to the spot, awakened Mr. L. M. Curtis whose premises were also in danger and the incipient fire was soon extinguished. It was caused by spontaneous combustion resulting from the slaking of some lime in a wooden keg. The flames were just starting up when discovered and in a few moments more a disastrous fire would have been under full headway. Proprietors on Main St. may consider themselves deeply indebted for Mr. Cardon's fortunate discovery. |
