Professor Evan Stevens, the diroctor of tho grout Tabernacle Choir and the most eminent musical musi-cal composer in the west; will have charge of tho concerts and band contests to be given in the Tabernacle Taber-nacle during Jubilee week. These concerts will be arranged for on 13; Pennsylvania, 14; Indiana, 14; Massachusetts, 17; Ohio, 18; New York, 38; Illinois, 39. A feature that will add dignity to tho Pioneer Jubilee to be held in this city J uly 20-25 will be the presence of nearly 1.000 of tho most distinguished men from all of tho twenty-four States and Territories west of the Mississippi river. They are the members of the Trans-Mississippi Congress which will convene here on July 1 14th and remain in session one week. The members of the Congress Con-gress are themselves pioneers in the building and civilization of the West, and because of their experiences will enter with zest into the occasion. Tho members of the Congress, including Hon. Will am J. Bryan, who is its president, presi-dent, will remain over for the celebration and will be given a most hospitable welcome by the people. Arrangements are already being made for their entertainment entertain-ment on a most elaborate scule. rr.izE roit a pioneer poem Ono hundred dollars is offered by the Commission as a prize for the best poem on tho pioneers or tho Pioneer Jubilee. Tho poem is to consist of not more than 100 nor fewer than 50 lines. All competitions com-petitions are to be forwarded to the secretary of the Commission not later than Juno 10th, and each competitor is to sign his contribution contri-bution with a nom de plume and forward his real name enclosed in a separate envelope.
