Show AN ORDINANCE In Relation to Doge- Section i. Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of St. George: That it shall be unlawful for any person to own or keep a dog within the limits of the City of St. George, without firpt making application to the Citv Recorder to have such Doir registered and obtaining a Certificate Certifi-cate of such Registration: Provided, that dogs' owned by travelers passing pass-ing into or through this City and not remaining longer than one week need not be so registered. Section 2. It shall be the duty of the City Recorder to register any Dog on applicat ion of the owner or I keeper thereof, and issue to such .owner or keeper, a Certificate of Registration, under the Corporate iSeal of the City, on payment to said I Recorder, of the sum of Three Dollars, Dol-lars, such Certificate shall be num-jbercd num-jbercd in the order of issue and shall I be in force for one year only from and after the date of the same, but may be renewed annually on pay-. , . ment of the sum aforesaid: an entry by the Recorder in a record book kept by him for that purpose, of the description of the Dog, the name of the owner or keeper, the number (and date of entry, shall constitute jsuch registration. 1 Section 3. All Dogs registered las provided in sections 1 and 2 of 'this Ordinance shall wear a suitable !coll ar, with the number thereon cor-I cor-I responding with the certificate of I registry, and all dogs found running 1 at large, and not registered or wear-, wear-, ing a collar, and all female dogs run-ining run-ining at large while in heat, or any fierce or dangerous dog, or any dog which destroys property whether registered or not registered may be killed by the City Marshal or any of his deputies or any person or member mem-ber of the family injured by the same. Section 4. ' It shall be unlawful for the owner or keeper of any dog within the limits of this city, to suffer or permit the same to enter or to be' 1 in any place of worship or public assembly as-sembly during the time that the peo-. 1 pie are assembled therein. , Sect ion 5 It shall.be unlawful 'for any person to kill or cause to be killed any dog registered and col-llered col-llered as heretofore provided except ' las provided in Section 3 of this Ord-1 Ord-1 inance or to deprive any registered l dog of its collar or to put a num-Ibered num-Ibered collar on any dog not so registered, reg-istered, or to suffer or permit a num-ibered num-ibered collar to remain on any dog owned or kept by them after the ex-ipiration ex-ipiration of the certificate of registration, regis-tration, and without such certificate 1 being renewed. , Section 6. The Mayor may, o; ! reasonable apprehension of danger 1 from mad or rabid dogs, issue a proclamation forbidding the running run-ning at large of any and all dogs in 1 this city, and any dog found running at large during the time specified in said proclamation, without being se-i curely muzzled, may be killed by, any person. 1 Section 7. Any person violating, any of the provisions of this Ordin-i nance, is guilty of an offense and on. conviction thereof shall be liable toi a fine not exceeding thirty dollars j or to be imprisoned in the city jaili not exceeding thirty days, or to both' fine and imprisonment.
