Show read the following: A MAMMOTH j WHO CAN BEAT IT ? We are under obligations to broth- er Charles W. Bennett, gardener at the Temple grounds, for a mammoth mam-moth potatoe of his growing, which measures n4 inches long, 8 inches y.cross one way, 6 inches across the other way and weighs 8 pounds. This is the largest potatoe we have ever seen. Thanks, brother Bennett. Ben-nett. Since the above was put in type we learn that brother Bennett has found a potstoe still larger and it weighs io pou.ids. We think that Washington county will take the plum this time. But who can beat the above? m In the way of large potatoes we give our readers the following: Henrieville, Nov. 2, 1897. Editor (Panguitch) Progress. In last week's paper I noticed in Tropic Topics a claim for Tropic of the largest potatoe in the county; its weight being 6 lbs. 3 ozs. At the bottom of the piece was the fosllowing "Beat it if you can." No doubt Tropic will be a little surprised sur-prised when they hear that Henrie ville is ready to "beat it" but if any one doubting it will call at the residence resi-dence of S. J. Littlefield, he will show them a potatoe raised here that weighs 6 Ibe 8 ozs. Buckskin Bill. Perhaps Garfield county people think that no one can beat them, but |
