One brother in particular had lost his all. He related some very curious incidents connected with the doings do-ings of the flood. He related incidents in his early experience in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Said he never had doubled the truth of this great Latter-day work, and he bore a strong testimony test-imony to the truth of the gospel as established by revelation from the almighty to the Prophet Joseph Smith, in this day and age in which we live. He exhorted the people to be faithful. , He gave an interesting account of the building of the Kirtland Temple, at Nauvoo and of the great blassings given to the people in those holy places. Elder Ashby Snow said he desired to so live that he would be a saint in very deed and that he might set a good example before the youth of this people that it will be worthy of their imitation. Elder R. A. Morris said it was good for the youth to so live that when they desired a recommend from the Bishop that he will be ready and willing to give it to them; while some are living in a way that they are unworthy. He strongly recommended fathers and mothers to teach their children to have confidence in their parents and so the parents will have confidence con-fidence in their children, and also to teach them in the ways of the Lord in their youth and then we will not have so much trouble with them when they get older. Bishop James Andrus was well pleased with what had been said this afternoon and was. confident they were truths, and advised the people to do good continually. |
