Show :Q,cl 3?olioy. Wethink.it bad policy for the citizens of Southern Utah to annually annu-ally pay out hundreds of dollars in cash, to parties who come from Salt Lake City and elsewhere, to repair our stoves, sewing machines, organs, &c, when we have so many ingenious persons in our midst who, with proper instruction and a little practical experience, would soon become proficient in the abov branches of work. By home )labor being; employed our money would be retained at home to bs handled in other branches of business, as it passes from one to another. Queen Victoria took pains to see that her children learned some good trade or professional branch of business; and if the Queen of England Eng-land could see that such a course was advantageous to her and her children, how much more so, it appears ap-pears to us, it would be for our young men to learn trades to prepare pre-pare themselves for f uturo useful- I ness. We should take every step possible possi-ble to become self-sustaining and shut off many of the heavy drains of cash that is constantly flowing out of our country. Notwithstanding our desire to eee our home talent thus employ- ed, foreign laborers will continue to do tho work and carry off the money, until our home workmen will strike out and make themselves them-selves proficient for the emergency.
