Show c LOOftL L D S. d PRELIMINARY CONFERENCE REPORT RE-PORT The quarterly conference of the Duchesne Stake of Zion was held in two sections, at Roosevelt and Bon-eta, Bon-eta, Saturday and Sunday, Decern ber 20 and 21. The stake authorities authori-ties present in Boneta were stake president Paul S. Hanson, stake clerk D. M. Todd, Jr., sister Flora E. Collett of the Y. L. M. I. A. board, and several members of the high councils. Saturday morning reports of the various wards were given by Hcber Timothy of Roosevelt and bishops Moon, Wagstaff, Mickelson, White, Wilkins, Ecklund and Cannon. There was a' very large attendance of Saints present. Saturday afternoon a report was made on the Relief society . Pres. Hanson and John L. Allred were the speakers. Sunday morning J. P. Madsen read the dedicatory prayer for the Ha-waian Ha-waian temple, delivered by president presi-dent Heber J. 'Grant. President Hanson spoke upon the subject "Salvation "Sal-vation for the dead". Stake clerk Todd treated the history of this subject. sub-ject. A beautiful solo, "Ring out sweet bells", was sung by Oneta Moffitt. Snday afternoon the speakers were as follows: Wallace Hanson, sister Flora E. Collett (on mutual work), Jesse L. Smith, James Murray, Mel-vin Mel-vin J. Benson and John P. Madsen. Owing, probably, to the fact thai conference was held at both Boneta and Roosevelt, taking so many members mem-bers of Duchesne ward, no priesthood priest-hood meeting was held here Sunday morning. A splendid sacrament meeting was held in the town hall in the afternoon, after-noon, counselor Lester W. A. Stott presiding. The speakers were Max Deeben and Orrin H. Lance. Following is the program Avhich was rendered at the regular meeting of the Mutual Improvement association associ-ation in the evening: Vocal solo, Mrs. Nettie Anderson, Mrs. Mary Shelton at the piano; Recitation, II. H. Hold-away; Hold-away; Junior girls chorus, Bell Hair, Laura Horworth, Hazel Brunyer, Nora Fitzwater, Maggie Hair at the piano. A splendid program was arranged ar-ranged for Sunday evening, December Decem-ber 28. |
