Show MYTON AREA NEWS by Grace Dalgleish Mrs. O.A. Dart enjoyed a visit Friday from Mr, and Mrs. V.J. O'Connor of Orem, who were attending to business matters in this area. Mrs. O 'Conner is a former Myton resident, known to her many friends as Agnes Dauwalder. Enjoying a business and pleasure trip to Vernal Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Devon Gentry, who visited his mother,; Mrs. Violet Gentry; also their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Oaks and children. Mr. and Mrs. Eldwin Wall . enjoyed a two weeks vacation during the holiday season with members of their family, Mr. and Mrs. Orland Evans at Orem, Mr. and Mrs. Bryan C. Weber, and Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Tuhn at Layton; Mr. and Mrs. Hal E. Wall at Sandy, and Mr. and Mrs. William J. Jackson at Mapelton. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Todd accompanied by Mrs. Esther Burton were guests at the home of Mrs. Blanche Koehler while there and was later joined by Mr. and Mrs. Todd, to enjoy dinner with Mrs. Koehler. Donnell Gentry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Devon Gentry, recently re-cently underwent surgery at Roy, Utah. He is reported as steadily improving. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bingham, former Myton residents now living in Magna, were weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Allred. Saturday evening they were greeted by old friends, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Lamb and Mr. and Mrs. Hamid Deller, when Mr. and Mrs. Allred were hosts at a dinner. Returning home Tuesday froifi Colonie Dublan, New Mexico, where she had been at the bedside bed-side of her mother, Mrs.' H.L. Crapo was greeted by the sad news that her mother had passed away shortly after her departure. Mr. and Mrs. Crape and two daughters and a son left immediately by automobile' enroute to New Mexico to be present at the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Aldon Kynas-ton Kynas-ton were Salt Lake City visitors last weekend and while there Mr. Kynaston received medical attention. A visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Murray is Miss Joan Butcher of Salt Lake City. Miss Butcher is the fiancee of Darrell Murray who is serving a mission for the LDS Church in Uruguay, South America, until January 1967. Members of the Central Christian Church of Salt Lake City conducted Sunday morning services at 11:00 a. m. at the Myton Presbyterian Church. Floyd Potter presented a lay-mans lay-mans service with the theme, "In the Beginning God", bringing a beautiful message to the large congregation. Presiding Pre-siding at the piano for prelude, postlude and accompaniment for the hymns was Mrs. Melvin Schwartz of Ft. Duchesne. Mr. Potter was accompanied by his wife and Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Sloan who were also greeted by the congregation. During the noon hour, refreshments were served by the Ladies Aid and a had the opportunity to become acquainted with the visitors. Joe Wilcken underwent surgery sur-gery Friday at the Roosevelt Hospital and is reported steadily improving- The members of the Ladies Aid of the Presbyterian Church gathered at the church Wednesday Wednes-day and Thursday to participate! in a "quilting bee". During the noon hour a delicious dinner was enjoyed and light refreshments were served in the afternoon. The group will again return to their labors Monday to complete the quilt. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Giles of Olympi. , Washington, are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Giles. As they return home they will be accompanied by Mr. James Giles, father of the two brothers. bro-thers. James Gileshas been visiting; his son and daughter-in-law in Myton during the past few weeks. |
