Show Monday, Jan. 17, 1966 This morning the students met first period in the Gym. We heard an encouraging report re-port of our wrestling team From Coach Josie. We also heard what could prove to be a very important announcement from Principal Rogers concerning concern-ing a football program at Duchesne High School next year. The students would very much like to have football a part of our school activities next year, but everyone realizes that football foot-ball cannot pay for itself the first few years. For this reason we need the wholehearted support sup-port of the townspeople. A mass PTA meeting is to be held tonight to discuss this program. This year Duchesne High School will be honored to host the Uintah Basin Sweetheart BalL Plans are being made under the direction of the Student C uncil for the ball whic is totbe held the night of Feb. 12. Rodney Harrison is in charge of the decorations Linda Stansfield and Michele Fitzwater Fitzwa-ter are in charge of the tea which will be given for all sweetheart queens, their . parents, and guests the afternoon after-noon of the dance. Prices for the dance will be $1. 50 for couples and $1 for stags and ex -ladies. CXir own high school sweetheart ball will be Feb. 5. It is under the direction of the sophomore class. Details will be announced announ-ced later. Student Council members decided that students should be informed of dress-up day on all away games and blue and white day for all home games. Last Friday was the first dress -up day. It was very successful. The faculty assembly has been changed to Jan. 21, because be-cause of the term ending on the date that their assembly was originally to be held. Several changes have been made. A class was created for some of the students who dropped out of seminary. |
