Show ROUTE IS CHOSEN FOR HIGHWAY A Y TO MOON LAKE LAIE The new highway to Moon Lake will keep on the west side of the Lake Fork river and will follow quite closely the present route from Home to the lake it was decided last Monday by three I engineers who met to study the problem Douglas Larsen District Engineer Engin Engin- eer for the Utah state road commission commission commission com com- mission N. S Forest service service service ice met in Duchesne Monday noon to make a pre preliminary survey of the possible routes This date had been agreed upon by the three men menat menat menat at a meeting at Mo Moon m Lake of the concerned on on n August 17 Also with the engineers was A A. A L. L Taylor of Vernal Supervisor of the Ashley national Forest through which the upper section of the road runs Whether it will follow the present present present pres pres- ent route over the hill north of Home and thence to Dinner Springs or bear more to the west perhaps intercepting the Dinner- Dinner Springs-Rock Springs Creek Indian road will have to be determined by bya a more detailed survey the three engineers decided They definitely determined however that the section section section sec sec- tion crossing the Indian grazing ground would tie tic in with the state highway approximately a mile north of Home continue on I the west side of the river to meet the Forest road somewhere near Twin Pots reservoir and thence to Moon Lake Its exact location will willbe willbe be determined by feasibility of construction and maintenance and greatest utility Work on the Forest section of the road has already begun under undera a VP A project Mr Hansen Han- Han Hansen Hansen sen has been at the Lake for some sometime sometime sometime time locating the alignment from the camp to the reservoir Fifteen Fifteen Fifteen teen men were assigned to the project and went to work worle Monday on this section Mr Dir Hansen continues a detailed survey of the route down to the forest boundary No new construction will be possible possible possible pos pos- sible oh the Indian grazing section for another year it was stated but it is anticipated that an appropriation appropriation appropriation for this work will wUI be included in the budget for next year |
