W Clyde construction contract in Deep Creek died in the Heber City hospital Sunday of injuries suffered when struck by falling rock during blasting operations on the road job Saturday The accident happened about 4 p. p m m. m Saturday afternoon Mr Whitehead who set off the blast from a protected position behind an air compressor raised his head above the compressor just in time timeto timeto timeto to be hit by on one one of the flying rocks workmen who saw the accident re re- re ported It was not known whether his action in setting off the blast caused him to rise or whether he raised too soon thinking the danger danger danger dan dan- ger past Best Workman In U U. S Mr Whitehead always saw to it that all workmen were well out of the danger zone and only two others were in sight to see the accident He had been branded by bythe bythe bythe the Hercules Powder company as one of the best workmen in the United States fellow workers I re rc ported He had worked on numerous numerous numerous num num- erous construction jobs in Utah Idaho Wyoming and Montana A car from the construction camp rushed Mr Whitehead to the Heber City hospital immediately after the accident Saturday He died at 6 a a. a m m.
