American Turkey IT WAS A MISTAKE By far the brightest outlook ever held forth for a road into the Basin comes now with the announcement that the secretary of the U. S. dept, of Agri. has approved the schedule of road work as outlined by the state commission and the department. It will mean the expenditure for road con struction and improvement of more than $500,000, of which half will be paid out by the government and the other half by the state or the counties interested . . , By the schedule the road from Helper to Duchesne and Duchesne to Vernal will be completed this year, providing the labor question does not interfere. Governor Bamberger is going to Washington, D. C to attempt to obtain permission to use the German sailors interned at Ft. Douglas for work on the roads. Since March 10, all public gatherings in Duchesne, with the exception of the school, have been closed by order of Health Officer Padgett, the cause being Liberty measles. and Mrs. E. V. Sadler. Since the above was put in type, Mr. Dean has been informed over the telephone that his w'lfe is sick with an obsolete disease in this country, formerly known as German measles.
