The trial is set though, and it is to be hoped that the outcome will be taken gracefully by the losers, whichever they may be, and that a wholesome effort will be made by Duchesne and Roosevelt citizens to restore the feeling of friendship between the two towns. COOPERATION PARAMOUNT The slight differences between the county commissioners and some of the officials are hardly worth mentioning as such, yet any friction is dangerous at this time, when Duchesne county is in such dire need d of cooperation in finding an answer to our financial problem. The county commissioners were no doubt endeavoring to use every possible means of persuasion in their attempt to get the federal aid which is so necessary, when they brought up the question of officials leaving their posts because of of salaries. They should have been in better contact with their officials, however, and either had their assurance that they would back these statements, or, if such backing was not forthcoming, merely stated that they feared they would quit. Mr. Anderton is to be commended on his determination to stick to his job regardless, and cannot be criticized for wanting to uphold his own name. The same objective, reimbursement by the government, for nontaxed Indian lands is desirable to all, though, and we are sure we can bank on amicable removal of the differences between the commissioners and the officials, toward the presentation of a united front for the benefit of the county as a whole. whole-hearte- non-payme- nt fj Qdd DIS-TRC- of men, teach me to know Just what "a good name" signifies!
