Show I I I I I I I Tragedy Is Caused B By Y Fire On Blue Bench T Early Thursday morning word was received of the destruction by fire of the residence of William I M. M Murphy Mr Murphy was found to have burned to death in inthe inthe inthe the blaze An investigation was made by sheriff Mitchell and only a cigar box of f bones was found of the body When the house caught on fire evident that Mr Murphy had made an effort to escape but evidently was overcome over over- come by smoke before reaching the door Mr Murphy had his bed on the opposite side of the room from the door and also his stove was vas near his bed As Aa evidente evi dente donee that he had attempted to get out a part of the skull was found near the location of thedoor the thedoor thedoor door and smaller pieces of the bones of the body were found further further further fur fur- ther away from the door Mr Murphy came here and lo located located located lo- lo a homestead on the Blue Bench Benc in 1906 His residence wason was wason wason on the road five miles north of Duchesne and directly on the road to the north country About 12 years ago Mrs Murphy Murphy Mur Mur- phy passed away At that time Mr an and Mrs Murphy were living on the Duchesne river Just across I from the William McQueeney place This is a most sad incident when we consider that Mr Murphy stayed with his ranch on the Blue bench for more than 25 years with the hope of being able to get Water water water wa wa- ter on it and after niter all aU these years I of sacrifice and inconvenience to tobe tobe tobe be taken in to such a tragic manner without realizing his dreams Mr Murphy was about 65 years of age and originally came from Nebraska We understand he I I came from Standardville to this I country Sheriff Mitchell has made an effort to g get et in touch with either ither I the people of Mr Murphy but butas butas as yet had no success I I |
