Ho was a public spirited citizen and took an active part In furthering all measures for tho advancement of tho territory and state. Dorn In Liverpool, Liver-pool, England, In 1839, when qulto a young man ho camo to Utah and played many Important parts In tho material and Intellectual and social upbuilding of tho state. Slnco 187'i ho was tho owner nnd editor of tho Provo Enquirer and was also Interested Inter-ested In various business enterprises of magnitude In Provo. For tho past few years ho was In poor health and latterly was unablo to attend to business busi-ness or lcavo his room. Ho passed to tho beyond last Sunday surrounded by his family. Tho namo of John C. Graham was known from one ond ol tho state to tho other and ho had many warm friends who wero drawn closo'ly to him by his kindly and genial ge-nial disposition and manly qualities. Ho was ono of thoso who do things, active, cnorgctlc and honorable, a man whoso word could bo rolled upon In all things. Ho will bo missed most of all by his family to whom ho was greatly attached, but also by hosts of warm personal friends. Truth wishes him love, peaco and rest and congenial conge-nial companionship in tho realm whither he has gono, and to his sor rowing family thcr utmost sympathy i Is extended by all thoso who had tho privilege of knowing him and thom. |
