Kj The club house was transformed H into a bower of beauty with spring K blossoms of various kinds. Jardin-fc Jardin-fc icrcs of flowering almond stood on K the piano and mfnglcd 'with the yalms B that banked the platform, while bran-&' bran-&' i ches of fruit blossoms formed a back-B back-B j ground for the receiving party, which HM included the hosts of the evening to-H to-H gethcr with Mr. and Mrs. William H II. Cunningham and Mr. and Mrs. Hi Donncll. Punch was served by Mrs. H; Lee Charles Miller, Miss lone Mots' Mot-s' rison and Miss Elizabeth Mclntyrc S from a table where red and white tulips with sprays of plumosus form- cd the decorations. In the dining M' l room below, where supper was served M, a yellow color scheme was carried H I out. A basket of yellow Jonquils Hi , .standing on a beautiful lace cloth j A formed the centerpiece. This , was followed by three selections from j , the German, " Der Asra," "-Wid- Hi ' mung," and " In ;Hcrbst." Miss An- 1 dcrson has a voice of power and great ' sweetness. She studied music in M i v France and Germany and in her rcu- iV ditions in the languages of those fl countries showed great skill in the B ' music as well as purity of accent and M clear enunciation. It was a genu Their voices blended most harmoniously and pleasingly pleas-ingly and perfectly delighted the list-ncrs. list-ncrs. It was a most artistic performance perform-ance in every respect. The marriage of Miss Jcanctte Langc and Benjamin McPhce took place Monday 'evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs, J. B. Cummock, the ceremony being performed by Elder Cummock, and followed by a large reception. The bride wore a gown ot white slik mull and lace and carried white roses. Miss Ethel Turnbull was the bridesmaid and wore white over pink and carried pink carnations. Those assisting during the evening were Mrs. Tcssic McPhce, Mlrs. J. B. Cummock, Misses Isabel and Margaret Mar-garet Robertson. Mr. and Mrs. Mc-Pliec Mc-Pliec will leave the latter part of the week for Canada, where they will reside. re-side. Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Felt gave a reception Monday evening for Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Home, whose marriage took place recently. The parlor and diningroom were decorated with pink carnations and apple blossoms. Those assisting during the evening included Mrs. Delia Young of Forest Dale, Miss Clara Home, June Home, Miss Clara Folsom, Miss Lulu Griggs and Miss Jennie Parkinson. Mr. and Mrs. Home left Tuesday for Idaho, where they will reside. Misses Peart and Georgia Savage are home from the East. Miss Savage Sav-age has been spending the past month with her sisters at the Martha Washington Wash-ington seminary, and has also been studying vocal music with Mrs. A. C. Fox at the Chicago Musical college. Miss Daisy Savage will return early in June, after her graduation. F. C. Schramm entertained a a dinner Monday evening at the Alta club, his guests being Mr. and Mrs. Ilebcr.jM.- Wells, Miss Wynn Coman Mfss' Lpis J5t'ers, Miss Mabel Iving-stone, Iving-stone, Jolin-S. Critchlow and Lester Freed. The clinncr was followed by a stall party at the opera. Mrs1. C. -E.' Mitchell' of Steamboat Springs, Colo., is in town for a stay of a wcc. Mrs. Mitchell is the sister of the late Mrs. 'Frank L. Parker. Mrs. Mc,Cinton ,of Grand Junction also a sister of Mrs. Parker, is here and will remain some time. ? Allen are up from Goldfield with their small daughter, and arc guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ashby D. Cleveland at their home on East Brigham street. The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Pio-neers held the regular study meeting Wednesday afternoon at the Lion house. Mrs. E. S. Wright read a paper on "The Conquest of Peru." Mr. and Mrs. J. McCrystal and son Arthur returned from California Monday Mon-day and are now at home at the Fifth East hotel. Dr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Beattie have returned from a three months' stay in Southern California. Messrs. Henderson and Blakcley of Lima, O., who have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Yunst, left Monday for Idaho, where they will spend several weeks. Tfe Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Weir will leave shortly for Norway and Sweden, Swed-en, to spend the summer months touring those countries. Governor and Mrs. John C. Cutler entertained a party of friends at the Orphcum on Monday 'evening, occupying oc-cupying one of the boxes.
