Show BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NEWS by Jeniel Boren School Resumes After Summer Vacation Between the dismay of the older boys and the happiness of the seventh grade boys, school started off with a bang. Yes, when the older boys finally arrived ar-rived at school with their seventh sev-enth grade proteges they were shocked and disheartened to find the sprinklers and water fountain foun-tain off. Yes, all in all, all water supplies were diminished. This meant no "initiation" of the newcomers, But with a little concentration many things were done to welcome these students to the walls of our humble school. Some boys had to go to the confectionery con-fectionery three and four times, each time for a penny's worth of candy. Others had their shoes thrown up in the trees and few were set on ine sprinklers or a nearby yard. All students who were new to Bingham High were welcomed by the Student Body Officers in a special meeting Thursday. The Student Body hopes that these students feel at home at our school, and that they enjoy the coming year. Three New Teachers Welcomed Three new teachers were the topic of conversation among the students this first week. They are: Mrs. Irene Berg, Charles Williams and Merlin Christen-sen. Christen-sen. To these new teachers we offer a hearty welcome. Football There are 45 boys out for football, foot-ball, and if you saw the way they played Thursday in a practice prac-tice game with Granite, you would know what a good squad we have. The game, even though Granite won with a score of 7-0, was a very good game. Next game for the Bingham Miners will be on Friday, September Sep-tember 14, when they play Morgan Mor-gan at Morgan. Game time is 8:00 p.m. Something New Added Another of the big highlights of coming back to school was the tile in the halls, and the brick glass windows in the walls of the ramps. This too, caused much lament among the boys but the pleased look in the girls' eyes very well made up for the boys dismay. |
