Show entertained the daughters daughty rs of the pioneers entertained in a royal the pointers Poi of this city andall an over sixty years of age at a program banquet and an old time dance in the south ward church last friday afternoon president barbara G bowen was in charge assisted assi sied by the other members of the organization ahe martial band rendered two selections during the program those composing the band were joseph bevan moroni england alfred M X nelson james kirk sr sidney isgreen and seth droubay old time music was rendered by john C shields and james gollaher both pioneers talks were given by john A beyan bevan a pioneer and president C alvin orme other talks were made by M B nelson age 92 the oldest pioneer present mrs susan dunn a pioneer of 49 and john england a handcart veteran A business directory of tooele thoele for the year 1889 was presented to the daughters in behalf of the city by S W lee following the program the banquet was held and during this part of the entertainment short talks talka of appreciation were given by mrs naomi gillett and bishop A L hanks james dunn age 85 years had composed a poem and read it without glasses at the banquet after ter style followed the banquet and one of the unique parts of this was mrs annie dorman a pioneer 74 years of age step dancing the following is the poem composed aad rea d by jaia s clod blew blem the women that cheer the old and tries to make their life a pleasure their worth to us Is moro more than gold and we do honor such a treasure trea surel think oer the music they have given today the music cand and talks talka so BO full of pleasure and then this feast that matte make us fuel feel gay and leave such thoughts wull well ever eter treasur erl where will you flud such wives as ours such women full of life and cheer their smile Is cheerful as the flowers flower ir their thoughts for us are ever near and our thoughts too arc ate nver over near no matter where our work may be tho the thoughts of lion home ie do ever dver cheer and fill 1111 our idle hours with glee nor do I 1 now forget the power that bring us all together one for I 1 do give this pleasant plen sant hour all glory to tho the father and the soul |
