Show LELAND CONNOR COM KILLED AT STOCKTON BY LIGHTNING leland victor connor was electrocuted in the connor garage at stockton at about p m june while an electric storm was raging A loose wire running through the building was apparently patently ly struck with lightning and the wire was shooting forth fire in rapid succession leland anxious to avoid a fire went to cut the wire finding that he did he not have his wrapped pliers he went back to get them remembering mem bering he had last used them on a car be was working on putting his hi hand shand on the fender of the car while passing he was struck stiff and held fast by the force of the electric current which pierced his body and was killed instantly His sister mrs haymes saw him standing motionless called to him and when he failed to answer she ran to him and as she grasped him she received a severe shock the father came to the rescue and released the body form the car three doctors were called from tooele thoele but were unable to do any thing as death was instantaneous leland victor connor was born in stockton utah march 7 1894 he is survived by his parents john F and mae howells con nor one sister mrs joseph haymes and one brother frank connor he wasa was a highly respected young man and has had lived here all his life it his untimely death has cast a gloom of sorrow over the entire comma community anity the sympathy of jall all go out to the bereft in their hour of sorrow and anda distress L elana A q ia through kih the great war u liiri and returned ho home me in safety after doing his hia full duty only to be taken so suddenly and unexpectedly funeral services were held in in the stockton ward chapel bishop A W morrison conducting the service the building was filled to overflowing with sympathizing in g relatives and friends the S W lee quartets sang the opening select selection ion the opening s prayer was by bishop A W morrison the speakers at the services were father frank H seifert ot of tooele thoele and stoke stake president 0 alvin orme during the derives mrs H H johnston of tooele sanga sang a solo the quartet sang a selection and the benediction was pronounced by elder william 11 cassity the interment took place in the tooele thoele city cemetery father F A seifert taking charge of the services at the grave |
