Show MOTHER WORTHY PIONEER PASSES AWAY MRS JEAN IJA W PAK PIONEER OF 1855 DIES AT HER HOME ON EAST STREET SUNDAY FUNERAL SERVICES HELD THURSDAY mrs M rs jenn jean harvey park one on of our worthy pioneers died last sunday night january Jn nuary 18 1920 I 1 at her home on east street at the age of 88 years two weeks prior to her death she had suffered eda a fall and this along with other complications was the cause of tier her death mrs park was born at kilburnie scotland august 25 1831 she was married to samual park in their native land iland in 1849 she became a member of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints in 1851 her husband having joined the church a short time before they immigrated to utah in the year of 1855 arriving in salt luke lake city in in the fall an independent ox team company headed by capt green was the company in which mrs park and tier her husband crossed the plains after living in salt lake city a short time they moved to utah county thence to weber county and coming to tooele thoele county in the year 1872 they finally settled in tooele thoele city thirty four years ago samuel samue park died 21 years ago in this city mrs park was the mother of 12 children five of whom preceded her to the great beyond and seven living namely david park of loranzo calio mra gro JJ esry J aalf lake city utah mrs john it ornie orme of sugar city idaho mrs margaret caldwell george park joseph I park lark and ellen park all of tooele thoele utah she also leaves 62 grandchildren and 87 great grandchildren funeral services over the remains of mrs park were held in the north ward church thursday afternoon at 2 many frid frienda lids and relatives gathered to pay respect to the departed bishop alfred L hanks conducted the services tile the choir rendered as the open ing selection resting now from care and sorrow elder john A bevan offered the opening prayer A quartet consisting con of mr and mrs leo isgreen AT 11 and rebecca atkin rendered 1 I know inow that my redeemer lives as the second selection the speakers were E iders elders matthew and moroni moron england and pres C alvin orme each speaker eulogized the life iffe of the deceased between the speakers S W leo lee and mrs 11 11 johnston rendered the solos face to face and if not I 1 would have told you so respectively the choir rendered as the closing he selection lection till we meet again the benediction was by elder john W tate the interment was at the tooele thoele cemetery bishope Bis bishop bopE E M atkin of the sou south th ward dedicated the grave |
