Show ANOTHER UTAH PIONEER PASSES AWAY the funeral services of marya mary A car son ewing who died at al the residence of her daughter mrs eveline johnson at stockton utah was held at the tooele thoele south ward meeting honse hoase tuesday at p pm m bishop edward M atkin having charge of the funeral services the choir sang 1 I need thee every hour prayer by elder J A bevan the choir sang sister thou was mild and lovely elder W H cassity was the speaker he reviewed the life and trials of the departed pioneer and her faithful devotion to her family and friends to the end dofher days miss kathryne gillespie sang oh my father the closing prayer was by elder charles Boll schweiler the interment was in the tooele thoele cemetery the grave being dedicated by bi elder moroni england mrs ewing was born in jackson county missouri march 16 1833 in the year 1851 she was married to thomas ewing crossing the plains in that year with the early pioneers they settled in cottonwood and in 1856 they moved to fairfield utah where they located and took to farming and during the early days of utah with the theother other settlers went through all the hardships known only to those faithful pioneers who settled this countey mrs ewing was a sl sister ster in law to the late robert walker of salt lake city a bro brother ter to M H walker 0 the walker bros bank she was always a devoted worker in the mormon church and at all times red ready yand and willing to devote her time and energy to the welfare of her church and neighbors her her husband passed away at it ophir utah several years ago and since ince s that 11 1 1 time she has resided with the children there or at stockton she was always a good and faithful wife and in an affectionate tid nate mother and leaves a wide circle of friends throughout the county who will miss the good kind face of the one they have long held as a lifetime friend mrs ewing is i survived by the following children mrs M A finn mrs M E white mrs L E morgan mrs mii E L johnson mrs A N young E H E ewing and george ewing fifth five grandchildren and sixty three great grandchildren deseret news please copy |
