Show last monday while the people of utah were enjoying the pleasures and sports of pioneer day nothing much short of a civil r revolution was taking place in the house of commons one of the law making departments in the kingdom of great britian like our an own senate and house of Represent ives england has two law making departments the house of lords and the house of commons the one almost equal to the other in law making authority at least no statute can become a law until it ii ia passed by both houses some time ago the commons passed a law that was sent to the house of lord for their action but the lords sent it it back without passing it and that made the commons mad and some of the commons proposed to knock the house of lords into a cock hat hai now the fact is that the lords are really an older legislative body than the commons are and the commons could no more bruff the lords out than the lords could the commons out but there was one way that the power of the lords could be curtailed and that was for the king to create more dukes and lords from the ranks of the common people provided they would vote to confirm laws that the house of commons would pass and that is just where the trouble was brought about last monday that caused the greatest outburst of disorder that was ever known in the british parliament the commons have passed a law that takes away the veto power from the house of lords that is the lords must accept the laws the commons pass whither they want the laws or not and nd the ruling party in england just simply tells the lords if they will not accept P ahls kang ng will wilf a appoint enough lords from the people who are in sympathy with the present ruling party who will outvote the present number of refractory members in the house of lords and the present king of england has given his word that he will do so and if such a a great change can be brought about in ii england without trouble it ismore is more than any reader of english history will bellive believe august augu st will soon be here and that month always brings a change in the weather in this mountain country countr y As far as tooele thoele valley is concerned we have enjoyed
